Dr. Haim D. Nesser, PT, DPT, CEEAA, LSVT Big

Dr. Haim holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in North Haven, Connecticut as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He spent most of his career in the rehabilitation and management of teens and adults with a particular focus on neurological, orthopedic and complex medical conditions. He is skilled diagnosing and treating a variety of orthopedic injuries at any stage of healing. He has obtained extensive training in advanced manual therapeutic techniques and has a unique experiences in treating a variety of orthopedic settings and injuries - from triage on marathon courses, pre and post-operative management, multi-trauma injuries to the common aches and pains.

Dr. Haim is an expert in Parkinson’s rehabilitation, obtaining specialty certifications in the only two research based methods for physical therapy; he is a Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR!) Certified Therapist and an LSVT Big Certified Clinician for people with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. He is a Board Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA), which is the gold standard to designate physical therapists with enhanced clinical decision-making skills in designing and applying exercise prescription for all adults, regardless of age or medical complexity.

Dr. Nesser is well versed in balance disorders; he is certified in the Otago Exercise Program and a STEADI Older Adult Fall Prevention Trained Provider, which are researched-based approaches designed to prevent falls through proper screening, assessment and intervention. He is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is a dedicated mentor for the Monmouth University Psychology Mentoring Program, which pairs alum with current students seeking guidance in the field of psychology.

Dr. Haim is a physical therapy advocate and is actively engaged within the American Physical Therapy Association of New Jersey (APTAnj) and serves as a Board Member of their Special Interest Group (SIG). He has successfully developed and maintained a working relationship with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to improve fall prevention efforts in the Garden State. Dr. Nesser has also organized and implemented large fall prevention events on behalf of the APTAnj & NJ DHS in recognition of Fall Prevention Awareness Week, a national campaign of the National Council on Aging (NCOA).

On a national level, Dr. Nesser is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and serves as Clinical Liaison for the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy’s (AGPT) Balance and Falls SIG and volunteers to serve on various projects. Dr. Haim is a regular contributing author of articles in best clinical practice for both the AGPT and APTAnj, which is distributed in various media outlets throughout the USA. In addition, Dr. Nesser was the lead author of the National Fall Prevention Awareness Day Toolkit, which is the first of it’s kind from the AGPT.

Dr. Joseph A. Nesser, PT, DPT, CCI, CEEAA, LSVT Big

Dr. Nesser received his medical training from Quinnipiac University in North Haven, Connecticut, where he was trained by some of the country’s most renowned Physical Therapists. Upon graduating, He gained his experience through practicing in both the outpatient and inpatient (hospitals & rehabilitation facilities) settings, allowing him to experience treating clients from the simplest to the most intricate of disorders/impairments and fragile state.

Dr. Joseph uses an integrative model of manual therapy including manipulation, mobilization, and soft tissue treatment along with therapeutic corrective exercises and taping for the management of musculoskeletal dysfunction. Dr. Joseph is a physical therapy advocate and is actively engaged with the American Physical Therapy Association, and is an active member of the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Dr. Joseph strives for all-inclusive care, taking into consideration the 7 dimensions of health & wellness. During his free time, you can find Dr. Nesser around the community providing pro-bono services, enjoying nature, or cruising around the world.
